DIY: Inspirational Quote Wall

When we moved into our new house back in October, I was super excited about my new room. It's ginormous {it's actually suppose to be a second living room buttttt I got to make it my room}. So knowing I had a lot of wall space to decorate, I knew I wanted a section dedicated to my favorite quotes.
So that's just what I did!
It's so inspiring to walk out the door of my room and read a positive quote or two on the way out! It gives me that boost I need to jump start each new day.

Do you have an inspirational quote wall? What motivates you everyday?

Good Good Jewelry Etsy Shop

I've always loved pearls. I love how polished and sophisticated they can make any outfit look. I think they are a true timeless piece that's worth investing in, because they are the sort of thing that will never go out of style!

So when I began my search around Etsy for a genuine freshwater pearl necklace, I was super surprised by what I thought were high prices, ranging between $50 - $150. This deal lovin' garage sale diva doesn't spend that kinda moola on one necklace. But then again I did want genuine pearls not the fake plastic kind.

So I searched and searched around and came across an Etsy shop called "Good Good Jewelry". I skimmed the shop and was amazed by all of the pearl jewelry and the INCREDIBLE prices! I figured they must all be fake pearls, so I messaged her and asked straight up if her items were made with fake or real pearls. She answered me right away and said all her pieces were made of genuine freshwater pearls, except for one pair of earrings which she attached a photo of in the message and explained that they were made out of sea pearls not freshwater pearls.

I hit the jackpot of amazingly priced freshwater pearl jewelry!
Her pieces are absolutely beautiful!
Seriously, you won't believe the prices AND there's free shipping!!!!!
Check out the gorgeous items I ordered from her below!

It was a tough choice, but I decided on getting the long 46" pearl necklace and a pair of pearl studs. Ke, the owner of the shop, sent me the second pair of smaller pearl studs as a free gift! :) Thanks Ke!! :) I haven't taken the earrings off since I got them! Not only are they beautiful but they are also safe for your ears. The posts are sterling silver so they won't aggravate your ears at all!

Make sure you check out the Good Good Jewelry shop on Etsy HERE!

Let me know if you are as pearl obsessed as I am!

DIY: Lengthening A Necklace

The other day I bought this necklace from F21, which I was super excited to wear because it is the only neon item in my closet! But when I got home and tried it on, it seemed super short, almost like a choker style necklace. And that sorta just made me feel super claustrophobic, so I wanted to figure out a way I could lengthen it to make it less choker-y.
The solution I came up with to solve my problem is a paper clip!
Here's how to do it!

What you'll need:
-A few paper clips {the amount, depends on how much you want to lengthen the necklace}
-The necklace you want to lengthen

All you have to do is slide the chain part of the necklace onto one end of the paper clip...

So that it looks like this ^

and then take the clasp end, and clasp it around the opposite end of the paper clip...

so that it looks like this ^

If you want your necklace to be a little longer after you add just 1 paper clip, try adding 2 or 3 more until you get the desired length!

Taadaaaa! This will be the result!
#1 is the original necklace {with no paper clips attached}
#2 is with 1 paper clip attached
#3 is with 2 paper clips attached

DIY Colored Cracked iPhone

Doesn't this look sick!! I've seen people do this with their phones all over Pinterest and I've secretly always wanted to "accidentally" crack the glass on my iPhone so I could give my phone this effect! Fortunately {knock-on-wood!!} my phone has never cracked but a friend of mine wasn't as lucky. So I asked her if I could use sharpie and "bleed" it through the cracks to give it this cool effect, and she let me!! But don't get me wrong, I'm not advising you to run outside and "accidentally" drop your phone on the sidewalk to make it shatter. This Sharpie bleeding concept is just a cool way {I think} to spruce up your already {unfortunately} cracked iPhone.

How To Do It:

1.Grab as many Sharpies or permanent markers you'd like and your iPhone.
2. Take one of the markers and color all over one area of the cracks {you can color not just on the cracks but also all the glass around it to give the whole area a dyed effect}
3. After a minute or two, you will notice that not all the dye will soak into the cracks or the glass. With a paper towel wipe away all the excess marker/dye.
4. Repeat the above steps with however many marker colors you'd like!

If you try this DIY out on your phone or have already done it send me pictures!

The Life Changing Pants

After my step mom got me these pants, I was dying to find more of them and fast. Now that I had found pants that literally felt like pajamas, I knew my everyday jean wearing days were history. As I've mentioned before, who really wants to go through the ginormous effort of doing the skinny jeans dance {aka putting them on} at 6 am every morning, uhhh NOT THIS GIRL!
So my mom and I hit up Kohl's and I was determined to find pants like these. Of course, the sales lady said they had nothing like them. Thank goodness she was wrongggg. I looked and looked and didn't find anything at first. Until I set foot in the juniors department.
I never go into the juniors section {even though I'm a junior} but I did on the day of my pajama-like pants excursion and I thought, Hey might as well give it a look!
And there were similar pants. With one feel of them I was sold.
They only had 2 colors in my size, but hey I'll take what I can get!

Oh, and if you're thinking dang it, I'm not a junior there's no way I'm going to fit into those pants. YOU'RE WRONG!! They had sizes ranging from 0-17 in juniors, which actually goes up to a 14 or 16 in regular women's sizes!
I'm still on the hunt for Palazzo type pants like the ones in my last post but I loveee the ones I found at Kohl's.

These are the perfect after-holiday pants if you're like me and maybe ate a ton bit, this past holiday season. I think they're super flattering pants that would look fantastic on anyone!
And as a bonus they're on sale right now here!

***If you're considering buying these pants, I would highly recommend going a size or 2 up from your normal size, when buying these pants. You want them to be flowy, NOT snug or slim.

The Black Pair

That handy dandy button means 2 things. You can wear them as capris or full length pants!

The Blue Pair
